Offering superior attenuation and a screening factor of 120dB the robust Draka Coax2 CT 48 S cable is ideal for digital services network backbones
Cologne, May 4, 2010 -- Draka Communications, a global leader in the cabling and optical fiber industry, today announces a new high specification foam polyethelyne coaxial trunk cable with the same dimension as bamboo cable but with significantly improved bending characteristics..
Designated Coax2 CT 48 S, this latest Draka addition to an extensive coaxial cable range offers superior 2dB attenuation per 100m at 230 MHZ, a solid copper inner conductor of less than 5 mm and a screening factor bettering 120dB from 30MHz to 1 GHz. Draka’s trunk cable will fit the need for long-term, sustainable backbone infrastructures currently demanded by CATV and broadband services networks.
Foam-PE (polyethylene) inner insulation improves this cable’s mechanical properties, adding flexibility to tensile and impact resistance. This makes it a best choice for direct buried and duct laying operations in a broad range of terrains and temperature extremes.
"As network operators upgrade and expand their backbone infrastructures, our latest Coax2 cable now fits in to their requests for a superior technical profile, flexibility and long life." said Thilo Hamm, EMEA Product Manager, CATV & RF Products, Draka Communications. "We are currently experiencing significantly increased trunk cable demand from all markets, especially from countries whose broadcast networks are undergoing technical upgrading and expansion processes."
Draka Communications manufactures high-quality Common Access TV (CATV) cables for use in all multimedia broadcast service environments. Evolutions in CATV networks such as VDSL broadband internet and IPTV services are a challenge for network providers as they require high quality cables throughout all network layers, with particular attention to screening classes, attenuation and cable life-cycle and upgradeability.
Draka TV cables benefit from Draka’s experience in the development and production of cables throughout the entire TV transmission chain, from the TV studio, over trunk lines and via satellite, to the viewer’s home, office or other location. Because of this, Draka cables are a first choice for reliable and future-proof networks.
