Data Centre UC^FUTURE™ Solutions

Under this heading we are introducing a series of dedicated cables use inside a data centre. The cables are a subset of the UC^FUTURE portfolio of cables for data centres.

The future are here now in the form of the newly publication of the IEEE standards for 40 GbE and 100 GbE Ethernet transmission standards. The UC^FUTURE line of products is highly specialised copper and fibre products for use inside data centres. They are compact multi way cables for high density cabling. The ever increasing demand for transmission of data inside a data centre requires more cable and more fibre. Space is always in limited supply so the cables need to be compact and easy to install.
The fibre cables in the UC^FUTURE product line dedicated for this environment.

MPO/MTP connectors
The MPO/MPT connectors are the preferred and standardised connector for massive parallel fibres. The MPO connector is the generic connector standardised by in IEC-61754-7 and EIA/TIA-604-5 in the US this type is sometimes called FOCIS 5. MTP is the brand name of the leading manufacture USConec. The two variants are interchangeable with each other. The dimensions of the UC^FUTURE cables are selected to fit the relevant cable attachment units of the USConec connectors.

The portfolio consists of 4 patch cord style cables and 2 distribution or trunk net cables.

M01: UC^FUTURE FO I RIP DI N LSHF-FR 12

Patch cord style cable with a ribbon for mounting of MPO/PTP connectors. The cable measures 2.0 mm x 4.5 mm and contains a 0.3 x 3.1 mm encapsulated fibre ribbon. Each fibre in the ribbon are individually coloured for easy identification. The colour sequence is according to TIA-598-C.

M02: UC^FUTURE FO I LBP DI N LSHF-FR 12

Round patch cord style cable with 12 fibres and as an option with 8 fibres. The cable measures ø3.0 mm and can be directly fitted to a MPO/MTP connector. The cable contains a (8) 12 fibre bundle of coloured fibres. The colour sequence is according to TIA-598-C.

M03: UC^FUTURE FO I LBP DI N LSHF-FR 24

Round patch cord style cable with 24 fibres and as an option with 20 fibres. The cable measures ø3.6 mm and can be directly fitted to a 24 core MPO/MTP connector. The cables contains (20) 24 fibres organised in 2 bundles of coloured fibres, each with (10) 12 fibres. The colour sequence is according to TIA-598-C.

M04: UC^FUTURE FO I LBP DI N LSHF-FR 2 x 12

Zip cord cable for patch cord with 2 x 12 fibres (as an option 2 x 8). The cable measures 2 x 3.0 mm for directly fitting of 2 12 fibre MPO/MTP connectors. The cable contains 2 (8) 12 fibre bundle of coloured fibres. The colour sequence is according to TIA-598-C.

M05: UC^FUTURE FO I FS LSHF-FR

Ultra compact multifibre cable for data centres with 12 fiber Flextubes™ and 36 – 144 fibers. The intended application for this cable is as distribution cable inside data centres and central offices. The cable contains a multiple of 12 fibres, each set of fibres are contained into a small dry Flextube™. Both the fibres and the Flextubes™ are individually colour coded according to TIA-598-C. Fits 12 way multi fibre connectors such as the MPO/MTP connectors with proper fan-out.

M06: UC^FUTURE FO I B3S LSHF-FR

Multifibre cable for datacentres with ø 3.0 mm fiber units and 24 – 96 fibres. The intended application for this cable is as distribution or trunk cable inside data centres and central offices. The cable contains a multiple of 12 fibres, each set of fibres are contained into an ø 3.0 mm subcable. The fibres are individually colour coded according to TIA-598-C. The subcables are marked with a number. The subcable fits directly on a MPO/MTP style connector.
