To support low-cost, short reach 10Gb/s connectivity, Draka Communications has developed a range of 850nm laser-optimized 50µm multimode optical fibers:
-
The MaxCap-OM4 multimode optical fiber for 10GBASE-SX applications over 550m or 300m with additional power budget
- The MaxCap-OM3 multimode optical fiber for 10GBASE-SX applications over 300m; this fiber has been setting the standard since the introduction of OM3 fibers in 2001
- The MaxCap-OM2+ multimode optical fiber for 10GBASE-SX applications up to 150m
- The MaxCap-OM2 multimode optical fiber for 10GBASE-SX applications up to 83m
Draka’s MaxCap optical fibers are produced by means of the highly versatile Plasma-activated Chemical Vapor Deposition process (PCVD). All MaxCap fibers are coated with the microbending reducing DLPC9 coating. 10GBASE-SX applications are focused in Local Area Networks (LAN) backbones, Storage Area Networks (SAN), Data Centers and Central Offices. Thanks to the special bandwidth performance of the MaxCap multimode fibers, a broad range of legacy and 10 Gb/s applications can be supported.
Together with other multimode fiber products produced by Draka this range of multimode products offers end-users the best possible optimization of their networks in the most flexible way.
