Microduct Outside Plant Solutions: Connecting with JetNetXS

JetNetXS is a comprehensive Loose Bundles of Microducts blowing system that provides the components, tools and accessories for installation and implementation, plus the rock-solid support services to back them up. JetNetXS loose bundled microducts are notable for their high crush resistance and record-breaking distances over which fiber can be blown.

Business flexibility

JetNetXS microducts have been designed with compatibility with existing technologies and expansion in mind. JetNetXS microducts can be implemented in two ways:

  • Pre-installed in various size HDPE ducts and so ready to be laid in trenches and branched where necessary.
  • By blowing in the microducts after the HDPE ducts have been buried, for the ultimate in network expansion flexibility.

Thanks to these choices, the JetNetXS system enables customers to decide what they need, where, and when to keep network deployment costs to a minimum while retaining maximum flexibility.

JetNetXS connectivity components

Microduct and Branching Connectors – Draka Watertight Y-Branch and Wraparound connectors make it easy to access and branch any size of microduct at any point in a network. Both products are compatible with Draka’s other OSP Microduct products. Draka offers a variety of connectivity products including straight connectors, reducers, and branching components as well as gas-tight connectors or terminations for use at network access points to protect the integrity and safety of the design.

Underground Closures – The JetNetXS family of microducts can be paired with various splice protection closures. Several port options are available including specially designed configurations for JetNetXS microducts. Various direct buried closure products are available on request.

HandholesDraka offers several options for handholes of various shapes, sizes, material composition and configurations.

The peninsula Qatar is rich in oil and gas and intends to become a role model for economic progress in the region. One example is the construction of Energy City Qatar, aspiring to be ‘the world’s most technologically advanced development of its kind’. And who did the initiators call on to design, engineer and implement an advanced fiber optic network? Draka, indeed.
In spite of the wireless-hype, wire and cable continue to play a crucial role in making triple-play applications possible. The technical solution that guarantees top speeds is glass fiber. Fiber-to-the-Home (FttH) brings this superfast data highway right into the home and business. This is already the case in about 10 percent of Amsterdam, thanks to a partnership between Draka and Citynet.
