Optical fiber outdoor data cables 

The outdoor cables are cables intended for outdoor use. They may be used for the backbone of campus networks, for access connections for telecommunication networks, or for point to point connections. The outdoor cables feature an UV stabilized and weather resistant black polyethylene (PE) sheathing. Depending on cable construction they may be installed in ducts, directly buried or as aerial cables.

 

The outdoor cables fall into 2 groups with regard to construction:

Central tube
The central tube cables are available in different executions with regard to tensile strength, general robustness and rodent protection. In addition a steel armored version is available. The maximum fiber count is 24 fibers.
Stranded loose tube
The stranded loose tube cables offer the user a more robust solution, than the central tube cables and offer a solution for the higher fiber counts. Depending on the variant up to a maximum fiber count of 312 fibers are standard. The stranded loose tube cables offer more options than any other cable construction family with regard to sheathing options .
