Optical fiber data cables

When it comes to data transmission cables, more and more users decide for fibre technology. It is the undisputed number one in today’s Local Area Networks (LAN) – structured cabling in campus and riser networks. There is a trend to Fibre-to-the-desk, e.g. optical fibre cables in horizontal networks.

The decision to use either fibre optic or copper data cables as an ideal solution for horizontal networks depends on many factors like application environment, previous network basis and future needs.

Indoor cables
The indoor cables are cables mainly intended for indoor use. They may be used for all parts of a data communication network, even outdoor where the climatic conditions are not severe as they all feature an UV stabilized low smoke halogen free sheathing.
Universal cables
The universal cables or Indoor/outdoor cables are cables intended for mixed indoor and outdoor use. They may be used for connecting office and industrial buildings or as drop cables for fiber optic telecom networks. The universal cables has an UV stabilized and weather resistant sheathing, in addition they features a fire retardant properties.
Outdoor cables
Impact resistance, extreme temperature changes, humidity… Draka outdoor cables provide the absolute best transmission performance under normal and extreme conditions. For use in ducts or as direct buried and aerial.
Assembly cables
Cords, single and two fiber cables for patch cords, jumpers, pigtails and the like. All cables use Aramid yarns as a strengthening member, and the sheath is made of LSHF/LSOH material.
Special cables
Special optical fiber data transmission cables for moveable objects and self-supporting aerial usage, among others.
