Draka OSP Drop Solutions employ direct buried cable without ducts or microducts, so greatly simplifying network deployment between the final OSP distribution point and the customer building or premises. Draka offers three OSP drop solutions.
Low Fiber Count (1-24) cable. Low fiber count (1-24) cables are ideal for a direct buried drop. Metal-free is usually the design of choice, but Draka produces many types of armoring as well. This protection, combined with a crush resistant jacket, ensures that the last bit of fiber reaches its destination without disruption.
Indoor/Outdoor (LSZH) cable. Draka’s wide range of standard designs are typically customized to meet specific customer requirements. For example, Draka offers several variants of indoor/outdoor drop cables that are LSZH and flame retardant, so the OSP cable can enter the building without the need for a splice point.
Medium Fiber Count (48–96) cable. Our Medium Fiber Count (24-96) cables employ a similar design to our Low Fiber Count cables, but typically differ in the armoring used. While metal-free is the most common, steel tape and steel wire are frequent alternatives. Highly crush resistant, Draka Medium Fiber Count cables are extremely robust and protect the fibers from severe weight and climatic pressures.
