Capacity calculations
The NetDesign software is capable of searching for all ‘down’ nodes and can determine the number of fibers required in the cables to the nodes [CAB function].
In addition, the software calculates the number of splices, splice cassettes and cable inlet grommets for the selected nodes [MAN function]. In PON networks, it also calculates the number and type of optical splitters required; the [+ function] does both calculations with a single click. If needed, splices, cassettes and splitters can be assigned to capacity limits, with warnings indicating if the limits have been exceeded.
