Every cable, solution and application we make is to some extent an innovation. The type or blend of cable, the coating, the installation requirements, the connectivity requirements, complying with local regulations… So while all Draka Communications solutions and cables conform to international standards (many of which we helped develop), each one is customized to your requirements.
In addition, with unique in-house processes and technologies like PCVD (Plasma-Activated Chemical Vapor Deposition) and APVD (Advanced Plasma Vapor Deposition), and our commitment to R&D, Draka Communications has a rich history in breaking new ground. Recent examples include:
Draka BendBrightXS optical fiber cable.
This goes where no other optical fiber cable can. With a bend radius capability 100 times better than standard single mode fibers, it’s easy to bend, connect and store. BendBrightXS is the recognized ideal solution for demanding Fiber-to-the-X (FTTx) networks (FTTN, FTTCab, FTTC, FTTB, FTTE, FTTP, FTTH) because it’s easier to install and more cost-effective. It is also backwards compatible, meeting all single mode optical fiber standards.
Draka ToughCat multimedia cable.
This is a robust marine, offshore and industrial-use multimedia cable and the first category cable type approved according to Det Norske Veritas rules for use in ships and mobile offshore platforms.
Draka ezBranch distribution cable.
This cable reduces costs for FTTH and FTTB network operators by making it simple to identify where to cut and branch distribution cables. ezBranch consists of loose tube cables with reverse-of-lay positions marked on the outer sheath. The typical deviation is just two centimeters.
Draka Optical Field Cable.
This cable is ideal for anyone who needs to lay a cable network quickly, such as defense forces, telecom operators, and event organizers. The concept consists of pre-terminated optical fiber, copper and underwater cables, laying and reeling installation equipment, and special cables for different interface requirements. It can roll out up to 10 kilometers of cable per hour.
Draka Overhead Aerial Cable.
This cable is designed for network operators. Instead of heavy, cumbersome and expensive ceramic insulator bodies and splice locations, Draka Overhead Aerial Cable uses lighter, safer and more economical optical phase conductor (OPPC) separators.
