Draka Communications - Americas RoHS Compliance
The RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) Directive established by the European Union (EU) and the UK RoHS became effective on 1 July 2006. These directives restrict the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. Specifically, levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame-retardants are tightly controlled.
Draka Communications - Americas uses only RoHS compliant materials in the manufacture of their fiber optic cables. The fiber optic cables intended for indoor, outdoor or indoor/outdoor applications therefore meet the RoHS Directive and the UK RoHS regulations that came into force on 1 July 2006.
